Welcome to TruthAboutLodgeNet™.com
This site has been developed for one purpose: to expose the fact that LodgeNet™ Entertainment Corporation distributes to many of it clients – as part of their in-room pay-per-view services – hard core, pornographic movies, which are destructive to individuals and families, and some of which are believed to be prosecutable under state and federal laws that prohibit the distribution of obscenity.
LodgeNet™ Entertainment Corporation is a publicly held corporation headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, that provides media and connectivity services in 1.8 million hotel rooms for the hospitality industry.
XXX In Your Community
Not long ago, virtually all of the movies in the “Adult Collections” of LodgeNet™ ordinarily could be purchased only in legally defined “sexually oriented businesses.” In order to protect their families from the documented negative effects linked to such businesses, many communities have established ordinances that limit where such businesses can locate. LodgeNet™ defies such protective measures by sending their hard core pornographic movies into any lodging facility that wishes to distribute them – regardless of where they are located.
Shouldn't someone do something?
When “Pornographic” becomes “Obscene”
LodgeNet™’s distribution of pornographic movies goes beyond defiance of these local measures. The U.S. Supreme Court has issued guidelines to determine when pornographic materials meet the definition of “obscenity.” To that end, 45 states have laws prohibiting the distribution of obscene materials. Federally, Congress has prohibited the interstate transportation of obscenity.
We believe that many of the graphic pornographic movies distributed by LodgeNet™ through their in-room, pay-per-view services are prosecutable under both state and federal laws that prohibit the distribution of obscenity.
Hard to believe? A simple glance at the titles in LodgeNet™’s "Adult Collections" will convince you!
Our challenge to LodgeNet™
To protect men, women, children and families in communities throughout the United States from the documented negative effects linked to the distribution of hardcore, pornographic materials, we encourage the Board of Directors of LodgeNet™ to cease offering such movies through their in-room pay-per-view service.
If LodgeNet™ is unwilling to make this responsible decision immediately, we encourage the U.S. Attorney General to investigate the movies distributed by LodgeNet™ to determine whether they are prosecutable, and to take the appropriate action.
A review of the pages of this site we believe will convince you that LodgeNet™’s willingness to profit from the distribution of degrading, hard core pornographic movies is irresponsible, and possibly criminal.
